truck sputtering and bucking when excellerating
Well I bought a 2005 F-150 4X4 5.4 supercrew last week and thought it was great. This week it started sputtering and bucking if I floored it. It's fine under normal excelleration and idling. I bought it from a local Honda dealership and it came with a 90 day warranty so I took it back to them. Their mechanics could not figure it out so they sent it to the local ford dearership and they had trouble too. Ford said they think they know what the problem is but they want to ask some ford engineers before they work on it. At least its all free.
Depending on the amount of miles on the engine it could be:
plugs
coils
injectors
fuel pump
fuel pressure regulator
fuel filter (I hope it would be obvious to the Ford mechanics if the filter was bad)
vacuum leak
PCM fault
leak in EVAP system
Or something totally crazy and that is why the Ford guys are having trouble, like something to do with the VCT system maybe.

Well the fomoco seems to think that I need a new clutch package for my differential because it only happens when I floor it. They said that under full throttle the cluches should be engaged and they believe mine are engaging and disengaging which is causing the bucking. Hondas going to buy the clutch package and have ford install it. I'll let you know if it works. Like I said before, at least its free.
On another note, I got my SIDO flowmasters installed today. Sounds like a real truck now, 100% better than factory. I also added an airraid intake tube and K & N filter. That made made a big difference. Sounds pretty aggressive under the hood.
