Truck problems
I am new to this forum so hopefully I can get some help. My truck started acting up...It is reading trouble codes P0018, P0022, P0121, P0300, P0305, P0307, P0308, P0316. My truck ran fine, I had no issues all day and then at the end of the day it started getting really low rpm, A LOT of rumbling, truck sounds like it is about to die. I am a college guy...not a lot of money but I need this truck to work.
2006 f150 fx4 (114000 miles) I just changed my oil and had a tune up at 111000.

Okay ive cleaned the MAF and the throttle body and it didnt do anything sadly. I then changed the camshaft and crankshaft position sensors. Nothing worked there so I wasted my money. I ran the codes again and it said the MAF could be bad so after cleaning it again and testing it, I replaced it. Nothing seemed to work so I took it to the dealer who told me that the VCT solenoid could be bad and want to replace it...they also said this is the second time my truck had this VCT solenoid repair. They said the main cause could be a sludgy motor and I told them that I havent gotten a single clump of sludge when changing my oil. Either way I will be spending a minimum of 1000...any suggestions or thoughts????

How does it drive? Are you on,y having this issue at idle?
be a broken phaser. F that bs lie about sludgy motor! Biggest crap out in have heard.
Take it somewhere where they can watch the phasers. Adv/retard. Willing to bet one is not moving like the other is.

You said you just did a tune up did you replace the spark plugs? Also maybe you should check out the fpcm above the spare tire. You could also change the vct solenoids yourself they cost like $45 a piece. You can always try seafoaming that way you can make sure there is no sludge. There are so many things it could be, does the engine tick at all?

Just dump it in. Run it around for 15 Min and get it hot. And drain the oil when its HOT. The codes could even be coming from a COP that wasnt hooked up properly. Also heard of people use the "engine purge" from BG with good results.

Okay I literally tried everything and nothing happened. I searched the forum and couldn't find anything. I know im going to sound ridiculous...but I had the motor replaced. The sludge was ridiculous. I had no other options in my opinion...not going to discuss the price. Well now I am pulling a p2006 error code and the truck is dragging like a mother. I can floor the pedal and literally nothing but hesitation and slow speed increases.
Any idea????
