Default Truck Altering Decision!!! HELP!

OK, I've got an '08 XLT SCREW. The dashboard is the standard one that comes with the column shifter... (see photo below)

I went to the local junkyard and found a dashboard and console (complete) out of an '08 FX4 for $250.00! (see photo)

Here's my question...

Have any of you made this swap? If so, how difficult was it? Do you guys/gals think I should go for it?

Guy on the F150online forum did the conversion and here's some of the documentation he did. Check out his gallery too.

I saw his photos. I know it can be done. Looks VERY intimidating though!

Is the picture above the actual truck you removed it from? Looks like they had custom leather seats and console cover in the truck.

Nvm it's not the same. I see yours has 2 cigarette lighter holes and it does not look like it has the custom console cover.

Naah, the photo was just to show the flow-through dash. It's actually VERY close to the one I got.

I've got the stupid coin holder on the left side of the radio. I got a second 12v power port with the new dash. So, looks like I'll have 2- 12v power ports! YAY!!

That's the album he has dedicated to the console conversion.

When you do the coversion take plent of pictures and notes please . I'm sure there are plenty of people, including myself, who would love to do this conversion.
