Default Trouble pulling motor. Help.

My dad, his friend and I spent like 6 hours today trying to get the engine out of my truck. Taking a bunch of stuff off. Truck is a 2004 with the 5.4L. Anyone ever done an engine swap on these trucks and has advice for me? Any help would be appreciated.

Radiator off yet, fan off, with or without transmission connected? I have pulled a lot of engines, if all of these things are off you should have plenty of room. Little more info and we can help.

I have been part of 3, working on my 4th. I like to remove the bed and lift the cab about 3 inches. Allows for clearance needed around firewall. Removing the cowl is also a must IMHO.

Also as already noted, remove the fan and radiator. Unbolt A/C compressor and power steering pump and set them aside. Remove exhaust, starter, torque converter bolts, bellhousing bolts. Remove fuel rail and set aside. Remove battery, battery tray, ECM. Disconnect heater lines, wiring harness, and vacuum lines. Unbolt engine mounts and you should be on your way.
