Trouble with Codes
So I pulled codes today via my Edge evo and came up with some interesting ones. To start off with, I have a problem with my truck sputtering very badly at 3000 RPMs. It doesn't do it before that point, and only does it until about 3700-4000 RPMs. After that it stops. Anyway, the codes I came up were with as follows:
P0174- Too lean on Bank 2
P0600- Unknown Code
P2105- Throttle Actuator Control System, Forced Engine Shutdown
U0300- Unknown Code
Can anyone help me with these codes? I do have a CAI, so I know where the lean code is coming from. I'm about to have my Evo reprogrammed into a Gryphon, so that should take care of that. But as for the others, I'm stumped

Possible PCM Damage. Here are definition for the unknown codes.
P0600 - Serial Communication Link - Indicates an error occurred in the powertrain control module (PCM). This DTC may be
set alone or in combination with P2105
U0300 - Internal Control Module Software Incompatibility - This DTC indicates that there are incompatible software levels within the powertrain control
module (PCM) that control the electronic throttle control (ETC) system. The ETC system
utilizes 3 different microprocessors within the PCM, each having its own software level and
function. The 3 microprocessors must have the proper level of software in order to
communicate and function together.
Might want to set the truck to stock and go to the dealer for a reflash but not sure if that would do it or not.

Well I hope it's as simple as a PCM reflash. For the longest time, it wouldn't throw a code, and I took it to a smaller shop and they said they couldn't see what was wrong with it. When I pulled codes with my Evo, the light wasn't on, but then came on after my 4 codes came up. If I have to get a new PCM..
I have a feeling that trying to diagnose those codes may be beyond the typical home mechanic. You could check for loose cables and plugs at the pcm but kinda shooting in the dark on this one. Maybe some others will chime in. I would put your tune back to stock and see what happens.
Thanks for your help. Funny story, I used to run setting 1, the transmission setting. When I took it to the shop, I returned it to stock and removed the programmer before going. When I got my truck back, I tried to put it back on setting 1, and it told me that I needed to check for updates and that my truck wasn't compatible with it now. So I just have it plugged in, but I can't get it to program now.
the plot thickens. Is your "shop" a dealer? What did they do? Just curious maybe they reflashed it when they were working on your truck. You also may want to call Edge and see what they say. You could also try pulling the battery cable and resetting the KAM. I am not familiar with the edge tuners but maybe there is a firmware update needed for your programmer.
I just went to a local shop this time. I knew they had Mode 6, and they still couldn't "figure" it out. I already pulled the battery cable and that didn't work. The problem with the sputtering was happening before I got the tuner, and I believe before I got my CAI. Since the light is back on, I'm really considering taking it to the Ford dealer now and seeing what they say, but I just hate helping out the stealership...
