transmission temperature
I just got the edge chip for my '04 F150 (5.4L). I haul a trailer that weighs about 6500 -6700 lbs. Can anyone tell me what the normal operating transmission temperature should be? It seem to be anywheres from 140- 150 (when I am not towing) and about 200 -220 when I am towing.

Yes I do have the tow package, just over 50,000 miles. The transmission has not been serviced, however, I had a complete analysis done when I bought it a year a ago and everything was good (it had about 40000 miles on it). It seems fine towing, jsut want to know what the normal trans temp should be. Once it gets to about 220 is the fan must kick in and it drops down to about 205 - 210. Has anyone else monitored their transmission temp when towing. I was doing about 65 - 70 m/hr.
