Default transmission talk...

ok from researching ive found out that its 14-18 qts for full flush.

majority of ppl say use amsoil full syn atf or m1 and to do pan/filter drop at same time..

found the how to add a drain plug (cool write up)

also adding aux filter, bigger cooler.

Here is where I have some questions. Friend of mine who works on cars rarely but he is master tractor mech (not gonna lie about what he does, lol)

he says
"...A common practice when we do flushes like you are talking about. We have a cheap transfer pump, run the hose down to the bottom, out hose into a drum barrel. once all emptied we use spec amounts...."

i somewhat get what hes saying. so my question is would that really work on a car? running a sump pump style pump, with hose down the tranny dipstick and drain it?

yeah he showed me what they had, it was a pump that did like 650 gph, but i think a drill pump would work to

i didnt think putting the hose down the tranny dip stick would drain converter (thats what I told him)

I stuck the orange tubes from a five dollar hand pump from Harbor Freight down the trans fill tube and pumped out the pan, made the pan drop a lot easier but it didn't touch the converter, hence why several pan drops are necessary.

eh ya, might just stick with disconnecting supply line and fill/drain, just do it in driveway , thatll help clear the converter from understanding..

well appreciate the input, i know he said the method they used is for certain oil, water and other fluids, didnt know if it would work on the truck.
