Default Transmission slips

I have a 2007 F150 5.4L. Transmission slips when going from 2nd to 3rd gear. Engine just revs at a high idle until I downshift to 2nd gear. No slipping when from 1st to 2nd. Runs fine in both1st and 2nd gear. Fluid level is good and quality of fluid looks great. Anyone know what could be going on here?

A lot of us have an issue with the OD servo clip breaking. Same exact symptoms but only when going into OD. Perhaps the same is happening with 3rd?

I recently started experiencing the same issue you described in my 2006 Lariat 5.4 3v. Anyone figure a solution? Mine has been slipping into a neutral when going from 2nd to 3rd and a loud winding noise occurs when accelerator is applied. If I drive in 2nd gear around 22000 rpm’s truck feels like it has alignment issues and a wobbling feel goes on. I read that it may be torque converter, but I just started to diagnosis it.
It first started doing it on highway at about 65 mph all a sudden slipped out of gear. I tried to manual shift and switched back n forth with OD and no change.
I had just left a jobsite in mountains which the driveway was very steep and Icey so I had to put my purse in passenger seat and shift my 2wd lariat from reverse to drive a few times to get up the steep drive. Nearly slid off side of cliff a few times, saving it by slamming on e-brake while lacking
