Default transmission front seal problems???

Took my 2008 FX2 5.4L 2WD in for service today after noticing a few small oil drips on the driveway. Got a call from my dealer that they had to replace the front seals on the transmission. Was wondering if anyone has had this problem on theirs? I only have 5000 miles on it. Is this something that has plagued the F150's for a while or am I the first. Just wondering if there are anymore out there like me!

it can happen, if the seal is bumped when the convertor is put onto the input shaft, there may be an abrasion which can corrupt the seals integrity. spray theee case of the trans with brake clean, if its red tomorrow, take it to ye dealership and demand a powerstroke F250 as a loaner.

Only 5k miles? They seal probably got dry and cracked from age and lack of use.
