I have a 2005 f 150 i just hit 92,000 and third gear went out in it and now secound on it way out. i was looking at a rebuild. but my question is can i put the new 6 speed in the truck over the 4 speed. thanks in advance.

 

That is doubtful. You would need, at least, a new PCM that is programmed for those newer trucks. Then maybe the 6 speed could have different sensor and shift cable connection spots and I'm sure there would be other stuff that would need to change. But I'm no Ford engineer either.
