Default Transmission

  • Transmission pan was pulled. No big or noticeable shards of metal, magnet was covered in a fine paste (Normal I believe)
  • Filter was removed and replaced with a new one
  • Cleaned gasket, and pan and hooked it back up
  • Filled with Transmission fluid
  • Went through all gears then tested Fluid and all was well.
  • Tried reverse, it did the exact same thing, went down in idol as if it was in gear but acted as if it was in Neutral
  • Scanned Transmission no codes
  • Scanned Engine no codes
Does anyone know what’s going on. All gears work except reverse!!!

Other than the idol change no. You don’t feel the jolt like in drive.

Default No reverse either

Hi mine has started doing the same thing. This was my experience with it.
I was towing my 7X16 trailer empty home Sunday when my transmission O/D light came on and started blinking. Then Transmission malfunction display came on. in low gear it sounded bad to the point I didn't think I was going to make another mile. but once I got into second gear truck ran fine as long as I did not stomp on the gas. I pulled my trailer 70 miles to home with no issues other at a stop and go light or stop sign. by the time I got home the tranny from 0-10mph sound like I was dragging a pipe on concrete. after 10mph truck sounds fine. after a few back and forth to get my trailer lined up as I was pushing the trailer up in my driveway the reverse went out. after a few attempts, I disconnect the trailer drove forward around the block got back by my house try reverse once more and it was like I was in neutral then with enough gas it moves back a foot then jams up like if driveshaft and the rear end was pinched. I didn't do anything after that. If anyone can help I would appreciate it. Even if it a recommendation of a brand new quality transmission. Thank you!

Take a look at the plastic clip, under the truck, on the side of the transmission. Just want to be sure it's grabbing, and putting the truck fully in reverse. Might be easier with another person to move it through gears, while you check it out underneath. Parking brake on, of course.
