Hi...still new at this post thing, hope this works...here it goes!...By way of background I have a 2004 F-150 4x4 Lariat...I purchased the truck this past September 2008. I had an issue of the transmission slipping out of third gear, while driving, with no warning it would just slip out of gear, as if it was thrown into neutral. When the truck was stopped, it would again take off in the first two gears, then slip out. This has happened twice since I've had the truck. I have to say the dealership where I purchased the truck, stepped up to the plate and diagnosed the problem as a computer issue, and fixed it, no charge! Apparently there is a TSB for the ECM to be re-programmed for this issue. So if this helps anyone, great.
