Default Trans Help

05 Lariat 5.4 62K
This the second rebuilt transmission under warranty. My driveway has a pretty decent incline to it. When I stop on the incline in DRIVE the truck rolls backwards. The truck will not hold in first gear either, but when you stop with the truck in second gear it does'nt roll at all. You can put the truck in nuetral and roll backwars then engage the truck into second gear and it stops very fast and hard! The problem I am having is when I accelerate from a stop light the transmission will shudder when it shifts from 1st-2nd gear. Is this normal for a transmission?
Any Suggestions?

What do you mean by shudder? Are you sure your clutch isn't worn out?

When it shifts from 1st-2nd gear there is a distinct shuddering action. It feels like the trans is engaging and disengaging very fast. It does not happen everytime. Why would the trans hold in second gear on inclines but not in first?

Would love to have the answer to this as mine does the same thing. Second tranny in it already. Have it back at the same shop 1 year later with shudder from a dead stop.
