Default Tranny probs

My truck, a 2004 fx4 f150, is taking forever to go in gear but once it does it shifts through fine.. But when it goes to downshift it misses completely and just pretty much goes in neutral.. Anyone had this problem?? Just keeps getting worse.. Tranny finally threw a code yesterday of output speed sensor.. Could a sensor really be all it is?

I would think that if it threw a code then that would be the culprit. Maybe the speed sensor is giving a false reading causing the computer to think the truck isnt moving or moving fast enough?

Id swap it out and see what happens.

Looks like your luck runs like mine. Did you try running for another error code after you got sensor replaced? Will be first of week when I put new sensor in.
