Default tranny filter

So I took my forum buds advice, and changed my transmission fluid. Now the question is, when I dropped the pan the filter was laying in the bottom of the pan. It had the Orange gasket on it. Does the new one just go back up in the opening and that's all that holds it up? No extra parts except the plug for the dipstick. It's back together and shifts great. So ease my mind that that's how it is. Thanks.

That's what I did. My filter was still attached when I dropped the pan. I had to wiggle it off slightly. There wasn't anything else holding it up.

I'll third this...
It just kinda pops back in there, and that's how it is.
