Tranny cooler upgrade?
Havent been able to come up with much through searches, maybe you can help. I am looking to upgrade the factory transmission cooler in my truck - I tow a 20' enclosed trailer every day, and summer in south florida is pretty much here. I have already rebuilt my transmission, so I want to do everything I can to protect it. The best would be one that uses the same mounts and lines. If you have any information, your input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

On my 02 f150... I put a B&M trans cooler... Works great...It was used for like 60k miles for almost nothing but towing a 18 foot dove tail trailer with a heavy *** mud truck

If you have the factory tow package (came with an external trans cooler), then you're good to go. Adding a deeper transmission pan can't hurt; I'll assume it adds an extra 2 or more quarts of transmission fluid, plus they usually have fins on the pan bottom to aid in some additional cooling.
For those reading this thread and do not have a trans cooler (besides the internal radiator cooler in on "tow package" models), add a cooler! They are about 30 bucks at your parts store, and are easy to install. Just make sure you do not bypass the radiator cooler, but instead install in series with it.
