Hey guys,

I have a 2005 f150 3v 5.4l v8. The truck got bad cam phasers and I want to trade up. I found a 2008 f250 with the 5.4l v8 in it. I was asking if I should stay away because it's a transition year and I had issues with my last 5.4l it's got 86k miles on it. And is listed for $14k . The 2008 had the least amount of problems, but the 5.4 in a 250 is pretty gutless.

 

Yeah the 5.4 is considered underpowered in a half ton. I don't know if you've driven a 4x4 3/4 ton, but that solid axle up front and all the other stuff really adds weight. That 5.4 will struggle everywhere.
