Default TPMS Longevity

I have 08 SC : It has the band type factory TPMS sensors.
I think the first year these were put into service was 2007.

My question is how long have these sensor batteries lasted?

I bought some new takeoff wheel and tires... but I still have a bit of tire tread (2nd set) and the original senors are working on the original wheels.

So my real question ( who's answer lays in senor longevity) is should I
a) buy new TPMS sensor for my new wheel /tires and put em on now
or
b) dismount both sets of tires install band sensors from factory to new wheels and use the new tires/wheels?
or
c) run the tread off now in service tires ( about a year) and then get new sensors and use the new stuff?

maybe let's call this a survey

What year is your truck and have you replace your original TMPS sensors?

I picked up some new 20" takeoffs a few months ago and decided to buy new valve stem type sensors and the tool to sync them to my truck. Originals sensors were still working (08, 130k).

I had one fail on my 2007 F-150 about 4 months ago. The tire shop removed all 4 "band" style TPMS, and replaced them with the valve stem type, as when one fails, the others are not long for their life.

There is no reason to replace your current sensors on tires that will be done in a year if you're going to use them.

Keep in mind that the takeoffs that you bought are ageing whether you use them or not. Letting them sit a year just cuts a year off their expected life of 6 years due to exposure.

I would not install new tires with sensors that are 9 years old.
