Do you know if you have factory towing or not? Truck will have 4/7 pin connector and a factory trans cooler. Also hope you have a 5.4 cause towing with the 4.6, you’ll be a slug.

Right out of the gate, I’d recommend a trailer brake controller, a weight distribution hitch and new filter/fluid for trans. A lot of mileage to start towing heavy if the truck hasn’t ever been used for towing.

Well, I’d make sure I had semi metallic pads on the truck. Better stopping power but gonna be hard on the rotors... I would use the regular rotors, but that’s just me.

Default Trans drain pan will enable you to change all fluids slowly

First change filter then add trans drain type pan , I use about 20 quarts of mercon v only to change out over a week or so 5 quarts at a time . If you tow a lot do this every 30k . Change out your anti freeze also make sure its really up to task . Remember its hard to get it all out of there . Best to flush a second tine with distilled water and make your own 50/50 mix with distilled water . Change your reservoir cap it is your pressure cap . Be good to it and keep it cool . Don't push your speed when towing . New belt and check those pulleys .
Brakes first class ,stopping more important than going . Always test your trailer brake setting before getting to speed . Tighten all lug nuts on trailer and watch air pressure . Not uncommon to lose whole wheel .
