Hey guys, I'm planning on going down to Columbus, Ga and then from there up to Atlanta, and back. I'm guessing about 480-500 miles in total this weekend. My question is, I got a 4.6 V8, and I'm towing a trailer with bikes(2 in the bed, 2 on the trailer) and 3 buddys are riding with me, so anyways how bad is the gas mileage going to be? My friends keep saying the 5.4 would have been better, but it shouldnt be too bad huh?

Also I just now broke about 1400 miles on the truck, will I be fine towing this soon? sorry just that I've never had a new truck lol.

 

Towing that will not be a problem. I would expect about 15ish. The 5.4 would get worse.

 

 

you will get better milage the closer you stay to 60

 

the 4.6. If you keep it to 55 you can expect, I would say 17. Of course, with 1400 miles, it should keep getting a little better. I would like to know how much difference you get between 55 and 70. I would bet the difference would amaze.

I have an 04 and I got 17.5 doing 55, course if you can stand the little old ladies giving you the finger as they go by for holding them up.

 

oh ok cool, thats not too bad. I'll try and keep it around 60 then, might have to speed up on the highway though dont want to get flipped off by the old ladies lol

 

Yea I hate it when that happens.. I laugh when they get mad at me for goin the speed limit.. Though that is rare..lol.
