What year is your truck? If its an 06 like mine which had heated and signals on my stock mirrors. If you are looking at the wiring plug from the truck that plugs into the mirror with the snap clip on the right the #1pin is the bottom right going up to eight and the bottom left pin is #9 going up to 16. You have to move pin #8 into the pin #9 spot which is ground and if you want the puddle lamps to work, you have to move pin #2 into the pin #11 location and then cut the wire and run a new wire into the door that you tap into the black with blue stripe in the driver kick panel which is the interior light wire and tie it into the wire you cut going into pin #11. If you dont care about the puddle lights then I would just move pin2 into a location, that has no pin in the new mirror so nothing gets screwy. the wire gong to the pin 2 location is also a ground in the older plug. The older mirrors had two ground pins where as the new tow mirrors only need one in the #9 position. I hope this helps you its not hard to do.

Like I had said if I were you Id move the #2 pin into one of the vacant locations if you arent going to hook up the puddle lamps, because Ive read on here were some people have an issue when they turn on the blinkers the mirror defrost light blinks or something like that and I think it may be because they left that ground in the pin 2 location and on the new mirror that spot is for something else. If the 2 pin is empty on the new mirror then your fine. The wires are easy to move. Just gently get the red plug cover off by barely lifting the two long edges if you lift to much they will break off( speaking from experience) and then I had one of those thin dental like picks stick it in next to the pin and there is a small black plastic tab you have to push over and the pin will release easily.

pin 3 4 5 & 6 are the power mirror movement which are the same on both plugs. 8 is where the ground should be 10 is the turn signal 11 is the puddle lamp and a
1 is where the defrost wire comes from. And thats all 8 pins that are used.

put the 1 back to where it was move the 8 to 9 and take the 2 and move it to 11 then cut the wire that you just ran to 11(should be a black wire) about 3" from the plug and run a wire from in the drivers kick panel ( Thats were youll find the interior light wire, I think its black with a blue stripe down by the floor towards the back of the big harness at the bottom) tap that wire into the wire you cut going into pin 11 and everything should work perfect.
