just looked at the manual for the forklift. it weighs 9,670 lb. i was a little off. The maximum towing capacity for the F-150 with the 5.4 liter engine and equipped with the optional payload package is 9,500 lbs.

I am glad you learned your lesson, when we all tow trailers, we need to have a little common sense on what kind of weight our trailers are (or get then weighed) and make sure our vehicles are capable and everything is in correct working order. Had you rear-ended a family of 5 in a small sedan, unlikely that they would've walked away fairly easily and unhurt, luckily for you it was just a Semi.

The orginal part of your post seems to start out as bragging, that is probably why others said what they did. Just a suggestion, but maybe you should've started off talking about the lesson learned.

Annnd, how much did the trailer weigh. I'm guessing you don't have the payload package, the way it folded under.

Get all your facts before you start talking crap. gotta be able to back up your words
this post is awesome
perfect example of what happens when you judge someone you don't know

My low mileage, non-wrecked FX4 is also True Blue Metallic with Dark Shadow Gray lower treatment. The whole lower portion of the truck including the front bumper is Dark Shadow Gray. I assumed yours was the same. I mean who puts on chrome rocker treatment? JK.

I'm glad you got a new truck that you're happy with. It would be nice to have an engine that wasn't as problem plagued as the early 04-08's but I'd never trade the looks of our body style though as I've wanted one since it first came out. I'm also glad you do realize you were lucky and aren't just looking at this at getting a new truck. A good lesson was learned on the trailer brakes as I've learned over time they're a necessary thing for heavy towing.

It's all good, I think op will forgive you, no ones perfect bro! We all judge people, thinking your never gonna do it is ludicrous. Just do your thing and use perspective before judging and its all good stuff..
