Smile Torque Specs On Spindle Nuts(2WD)

I have 2006 F-150 Extended Cab 2WD. According to the Haynes Manual they say the Torque is 295 ft.lbs. I sent Haynes an e-mail and athey say its correct but my bearings on both rotors were burned up. I say the spec is way to high and some Ford Techs say the same. Does anyone have what the spec really is? Thank you.

The torque spec is correct, use new nuts, and everything will be fine.
