Backing down about a 30 degree decline in a job site the trailer pulls my truck down the hill. Now I locked up the breaks and was able to control the 15-25 foot slide. BUT now theres a major racket coming from the transfer case. The wheel hub assemblies both went bad and somehow the right side brake caliper froze permanently.... $H&%%#@$@#$@@@!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!so today was a bad day too...
Skidloaders don't belong behind f150s. It's just your trucks way of telling you to never do it again.
I'm just going to assume you put it in 4wd and tried to pull that load back up the hill?

Eh that's debatable. Skid steers can weigh anywhere from 3,000 to 10,000 pounds. He said it's a mini skid so I image it's on the lighter side. The fact that the trailer also had stone on it could have added a lot of weight. Hopefully it wasn't more than one cubic yard, even though it's too late now.

Half an 18 foot trailer sounds like a lot more than a cubic yard if stone, OP was likely greatly exceeding payload and other limits.

No doubt that he was probably exceeding the trucks limits. But it's impossible to say how much stone was in there with the given information.
