hi all new to the forum. ive got a 06 reg cab xlt 4x4 my question is im wanting to put a leveling kit and tires on my truck but was told by the tire guy i couldnt use the tires on my stock 17" wheels. the tires are 315x70x17.
any help is appreciated

 

You're looking at putting a tire considered 12.50" wide on a wheel that's 7" wide. It'll work, there are several guys running that size tire on the OEM wheel. That being said, it's not recommended to run a tire that wide on a wheel that small so I'm sure that's why the place you're talking to is telling you that you can't do it. It's not that it can't be done, it's just that they won't do it.

 

I also had that same problem. I wanted to run a 315/70 BFG A/T on a stock 17.5 rim. After talking to some guys @ an off-road shop, they checked, and it would work.

 

my local ford dealer is throwing level kits and nitto dune grapplers 315/70r17 on the stock wheels on there used trucks i think it would be ok
