You never really HAVE to regear. Its just suggested so you can restore some of the power. Plus your shift points will be all jacked up because you wont be turning the same RPMs. I have 33's on my truck and I didnt regear, but I could tell a difference. The Edge programmer makes up for the power loss though.

You can find a chart online (cant remember where though, just google it), but it will tell you an approximate range for your setup. It will depend on if you want more top end power, torque, etc.

Im not really worried about the lack of power so much, as the jacked up gears. I just dont get why everyone does it at 37 instead of like 36s. But like u said u dont have to, but u can at any time

You do not LOSE power. Your truck makes the same power no matter what size tires you have on the vehicle... You are losing mechanical advantage.

"Most people" jump from 35's to 37's, not a huge tire selection in 36's, this may be why you see it more when people go to 37's...

Maybe so, my worry is that when i lift my truck itll look dumb. i plan on going 9" total which is 7" on a 4wd. I dont want it too look dumb with 35s.

That is just a personal opinion about looks... Check around here, some have theirs lifted on 35's, if you don't like the look then go with the 37's... I will tell you my personal opinion and that is if I go to 35's I will regear it from 3.73 to 4.xx.
