I can hear the 35x12.5x20 Nitto Trail Grapplers callin' my name, if they'll fit without rubbin' on my stock wheels and a 2.5" leveling kit.
I have a 2007 SCrew Lariat 4x4 - I have talked with the tire shops around town and if you put on a leveling kit you can fit the 35s - A friend of mine has the Toyo MT 35s on his 2009 screw fx4 and said they only rub if you lock out the wheels in either direction.
I thought long and hard about the 35s but decided to save the little bit of MPG i can I ordered my 305/55/20 Nitto Trail Grapplers (33.4") yesterday (they will be in in about a week or so!!!) Will level out my truck next week as well! Will post pictures once installed!! Im Can't wait!!

I am having troubles finding tires for 18"wheels. When I do a search, should I be searching in metric or inches? I dont want to go as big as I can go with just a leveling kit, cuz I dont want to worry about rubbing, but I dont want to put a leveling kit in, and have the tires look too small. I need to find that happy medium. What combination should I be typing in on the tire sites? seems like every time I type a combination in, it returns no results.

I have an 06 2wd leveled and plan on getting the Rancho Quick lift package to get about another 2". I want to get 20" KMC Rockstars, and it want them to run flush to the fender or close to it to where they arent sticking out much. what are the specs for wheels and tires i should get?

Default last minute advice

I am trying to finalize my tire selection for my 06 S/cab 150 with a Skyjacker 2" leveling kit. I currently run a Nitto Terra Grapler 285/60R/18 on the Ultra Goliath 224 18x9 with 6" BS and +25 offset. I am keeping the wheels but would like a tire that fills out the wheel well a little better. Here is what I am looking at: BFG/TA-KO 305/65R/18 or 275/70R/18. Any last minute advice on this would be great, also looking to see if anyone else runs this set up or one that is similar. Thanks.

for all wondering you can run 35 and 20's or 22's with a leveling kit. some say you cant but i have 35's and 22's on my truck and hardly ever scrub the only time they do is when im turning all the way on a hill and its not even bad. you may have to trim you wheel well or fender just a little but thats it

Your specs are about right. I put 35x13.50 on my truck with a 3" leveling kit and I had to put 1/2 wheel spacers on my truck to keep the tires from rubbing. I also put a 2.5" leveling kit on a 2wd and we were able to 35x12.50 with no rubbing.

Check my post #65 on page 7. My truck has a Ready Lift leveling kit with 285/65's on factory King Ranch 20" rims. They measure 34.9", so I call them 35's. I have more pics in my photo album.

Figured I would add a little info to this thread that seems to be needed based on some of the replies:

Metric Tire Sizing:
AAA/BBRCC (i.e. 285/65R18)

AAA - Is the section width in millimeters
BB - Aspect Ratio - The sidewall height as a multiple of the section width in hundredths
R - Tire construction - R is a Radial
CC - Rim diameter

Common Section Widths (1mm = .0393700787 in)
285 - 11.22 in
305 - 12.01 in
325 - 12.80 in

Finding the approx tire height:
Section width in inches x Aspect Ratio x 2 + Rim diameter
(AAA x .0393700787) x (BB/100) x 2 + CC

So, for a 285/65R18
285*.0393700787*65/100*2+18= 32.59 inches
meaning a 285/65/18 is approximately a 32.59x11.22R18 tire

A note on OEM rim tire width:
After perusing this site, you will find guys running as wide as 12.5" (which would be a metric 317) on their stock 7.5" rims. Most do not recommend making the jump to 325s. You may get turned down by a tire shop or two, and may have some poor tread wear, but you should be able to find someone who will mount 305s or 12.5s. Make sure you rotate and adjust your tire pressure for proper wear.
