Default Tire pressure sensor

I had a shop replace the original tires with a set of 225-70-17 Yokohama Geolander AT/S tires today.
I picked the truck up and drove about 20 miles. Shortly before I got home the tire pressure light came on. The light flashes for 15 seconds or so them stays on steady.
I checked the pressure and all were set at 44 psi.
I adjusted all pressures down to 35 and light is still on.
Would the spare tire on steel wheel have a sensor as well that caused the light to come on?
Does the tire pressure sensor system take a while to clear out a code?

No, and no. Spare tire has the sensor too, but as long as it has sufficient air, it will not make the low air light come on.

Take the truck back to the tire shop that did the work. Have them remove the tires (if nessesary) to find out which sensor is faulty. They may have damaged it during the new tire installations.

spares on f150s don't have tps, if all the pressures are right its a damaged sensor for sure, if the tire shop has a programmer and knows the procedure (brake, key on key off X3, repeat then the truck beeps once, then programming begins with the tool) once they find the wheel that doesn't respond thats the bad sensor, if the don't then i would take it to the dealer and stick the tire place with the bill it will be over $200 to replace.

and unless you requested 44psi in your tires i wouldn't trust a shop with techs that don't know where to find the label for the proper pressure
