Default Timing chain replacement

Hey guys, Ive done my research and have a good plan for what i need to do.
I have an 08' f150 xlt 4x4, 5.4, scab with 99,000 miles. It is fairly quiet except when at a drive through or somewhere the engine noise reflects off a near by wall. Then you can hear a rattle/ clacking sound. Plus i have a slight vibration at idle that is annoying.
My plan is to replace the usual timing components. My question to you guys is what should i replace while i have the engine torn down? Where is the best place to shop for the parts? If it was your truck, what would you replace? I only want to do this once so should i get replacement water pump or any other non-timing related parts that i will be removing?
Im thinking of getting one of the timing kits available to start. Or do you think i should buy the parts individually? Im am going to use motorcraft parts exclusively when available.
So what should i buy? Just part names and where to buy will help. No need to include part numbers unless you have them?
I really appreciate all your help on this.
Also, for a manual, should i pick up a Hayne's manual from autozone or is there a better OE service manual i can download? What have you guys used that have done these repairs>

Thanks again!!

I had the same rattle sounds and all I did was replace the VCT solenoids to fix it.

chuckleguts, good to know. i plan to drop my oil pan to look for broken guide pieces. This should help me determine what i need to do. Even if the pan is clean im thinking of replacing everything anyway. It seems the repairs are inevitable. So to do the work now at 100,000 miles will insure the next 100,000 will be smooth sailing. In theory...

Rock auto and buy the kit not individually, also get a new melling oil pump, anywhere on ebay etc. Fordtechmakuloco on you tube has an excellent 4 part series on a timing job for fords. I researched and referenced it constantly
