Default Timing Chain

I have an 05 F150 4WD with the 5.4. I've been told that there are issues serious issues with the timing chain at around 140,000 miles. As i have 141,000 i am trying to find out if there is any truth to this or just a rumor. Any input is greatly appreciated.

I was under the impression that somewhere around 100k they were supposed to be replaced.. are you supposed to replace them again at 140k or is that for the stock one in the even that it hasn't been replaced?

The maintenance schedule doesn't include the timing chain, and thank God because it is 12.4 hours of labor.

You may be thinking of the drivebelt which is inspect at 100k and replace at 150k.

Keystone, I wouldn't worry about ever replacing the timing chain, unless your doing some other hard-core engine work and all it's going to cost you is the $50 part, probably not even worth the $50 then.
