time guide to do #8 and #1 coils
You need a 7mm I believe for the coils.
before buying new coils,
I'd be pulling the plugs and looking at them and just cleaning or replacing the coil rubber boots because the factory coils last a long long time.
Not long.
Agree with other post. Just replace boot/springs, and clean the elec tabs on coils where spring connects.
Id probably do all 8 at the same time (and do the plugs too if there were due or almost die to be done).

To mess with no 4 plug ,its best to pull pcm and bracket . Plugs/ boots are a maint item cops are not- oems rarely fail ,they just corrode on connections . People fail to change boots but they are the weak link no matter how they look . New ford standard is 60k on plugs . doing one cyl here and there is not good ,you lose track of whats older .
Aftermarket cheap cops are not the quality of oem . They failed on me . At 220 k I have seven oem orig cops ,I wish I had not tossed the one when I thought it was bad .
