Default Ticking on cold start

What do you guys think this ticking noise is on every cold start? I gets quieter when warm but there's a ticking all the time and keep getting the "check gauges" message. Truck's got 600 miles after rebuild, new cam phasers with lockouts (so no VCT), new timing kit, new lifters, new coil packs, new injectors, new oil pump, new fuel filter, new spark plugs, new knock sensors, new camshaft position sensor, new oil pressure switch, cleaned the throttle body and MAF, new intake manifold and just changed oil and filter at dealership this morning. It's a freaking long list of parts and the truck idles like crap and its loud, could that ticking noise be an exhaust leak? I have never had such a terrible experience with a vehicle in my entire life and I've only had this truck for 5 months

Sounds like a classic exhaust manifold leak to me.

My biggest problem is rough idling when on a stop, don't know if it's related to the exhaust leak but that's what's driving me insane. Dealership said that rough idling was caused by bad injectors and the "check gauges" message should go away when I replace the injectors... Guess what, it didn't help at all...

Hmm. I don't imagine the two would be related. Could be wrong though.

Any codes?

No CEL, no codes just rough idling and keep getting the oil pressure gauge beep and "check gauges" message every time I stop

Those symptoms sound pretty bad to me, although I'd say the cold start noise could be an exhaust leak. An 02 down stream from the exhaust leak will definitely cause a fueling issue if the leak is big enough.

Maybe the oil pan pickup tube is disconnected, loose or the screen is plugged..? The oil light and check guages is definitely not going to be coming from an exhaust leak.. I'd certainly be thinking something mechanical is physically wrong.

Mine started almost immediately after taking back my truck from that shop that put the headers on. Guessing they didn't torque properly. Man that shop sucked royally.
