Default The "tick" question

I would probably never pay attention to the noises (unless they were obvious and terrible) coming from my engine until spending a bit of time on these forums and im probably being over paranoid but I have no clue what to listen for so here's the question..... While I am driving with my window down listening to my engine I swear I hear this little (not loud and other than "tick tick tick tick tick" I cant describe it any better) noise coming from the engine. I (being that which is not very mechanically savvy) would just think its normal engine noise but all the "tick" threads make me paranoid! Is a light "tick" okay or what should I be looking/listening for? THANK-YOU in advance!

Does it always do it? Worse or better under lighter/heavier acceleration? Does it sound like its moving with your engine or wheel speed? (wheel speed will be a lot slower)

Hmmm, not sure if it is always occuring but I notice it a lot more after being here haha and it is a faster moving "tick". Pretty sure it goes faster the heavier I accelerate as well. I might have to try and record it tonight or tomorrow and let you experts listen haha.

Listen to it while truck is sitting still. With hood open, start engine and slowly press pedal and see if you can hear tick increase. It could be just injectors.

Injector noise most likely that drove me nuts on my mustang. What size engine do you have.
