Default Thunder won't start!

Here's what happened. I took Thunder in a little too deep of a mud pit and got stuck for about 15min. I finally got pulled out but everything electrical shut off, but Thunder was still able to drive somehow. I managed to get Thunder to a group of friends, and then it finally shut off. Now nothing happens when I turn the key, and the shifter is also stuck. A friend tested his battery on Thunder and it started, but died right after he disconnected it. Can someone please tell me what damage I did? Thanks!

Describe "too deep" in the mud...what was submerged?

Have you already cleaned off/out all the mud from the engine, transmission and electrical areas? Did any mud/water get into the MAF or air cleaner?

No, the mud and water didn't get high enough to reach the intake. It was just above the level of my front bumper. I will say, however, that I am quite impressed at the watertight integrity of my doors! The water/mud was easily up to my doors, yet, nothing got inside my cab!

And I did clean the entire engine and all electrical areas. Everything is kinda pointing to the alternator at this time. I'm hoping that that's the only thing that I need to replace. Autozone said my battery was fine and just needed to be charged since it was only putting out 9. At least that was taken care of.

Kind of off topic, but where do you go mudding or off-roading at? I used to live in Converse, Texas. I now live in Cibolo, Texas.

I would check your grounds and positive wires coming to and from the battery.

The battery is fine. I did some work, and jump started Thunder. The battery was okay, however the battery light came on and my Edge Evo showed a P0622 code (Charging System Fault). And as I used other stuff and revved my truck, the battery level did start to drop. So I'm almost pretty sure now it's the alternator.

Yup. Sure looks that way.
