Throttle lag
I notice while driving my 2004 F-150, new body style, it has massive throttle lag compared to my older vehicle with just a throttle cable. i know these trucks have electronic throttle but is there any way to make the throttle response much crisper?
Not really anything to help the pedal to throttle body response, but you'll probably appreciate the difference when you install a tuner that adjusts the shift timing and pressure.
nickx86 talk to your dealer and see if your truck needs a pcm/reflash update i had mine done and helped a little not near as bad as it was.
my '06 was exactly the same. felt like something was trying to pull my truck backwards when i was trying to go forwards.
I bought an "edge evolution" (used, from this forum's sale section), set it to 87 performance, and about 95% of the throttle lag went away. it took me quite by surprise. first time (with the edge) i got on the highway onramp i travel everyday, i stomped the gas like i usually do. this time the inside tire started spinning. after that i caught traction and took off like a rocket.
that right there made all the money worth it. all the other added benefits of the edge were just icing on the cake.
