Hi all, If I wanted to switch out my cargo light [ third brake light ] Assembly for an after market or even a OE replacement, do I have to pull down the head liner? Or do I pull on the wire harness to revel the connection. Wire seems pretty tight. Thanks...

 

The third brake light on the outside of the cab above the bed? Just 2 screws hold it in. Take em out and it pops off.

 

LOL. Ya I know. If I order an after market LED assembly it comes with a Wire Harness. Need to disconnected the Factory one on the truck. Looks like the connection is way in the roof.

 

I put a recon one on my truck and was able to gently pull on it it to pop a clip off and get more slack to plug it in

 

Yeah same, I did everything from outside of the truck. I didnt need to go inside at all.

I changed out to recon third light a couple years back Unlike a couple of the guys I ended up pulling down head board liner a little after 45 mins fighting with it from outside trying to do with out pulling down headboard liner, finally gave in and was done in less then 5 min. (didn't pull all the way down just enough to get my fingers up in there)
