Default thinking about an edge evo, need feedback

honest opinions guys, if you have one what are pro's and con's. I tow a 3,500lb. trailer and figure it couldn't hurt using the towing setting. I know its a popular mod being done so that's why im curious to hear from you guys who have one... thanks

Best bang for the buck. But there are too many threads about Edges to give you Pros and Cons here. Best for you to search about it. Or use the sticky.

I have the edge also. There are no cons here. As Evil stated above, there are a ton of threads about it. I think the reason it's such a popular mod is because it really wakes the truck up. It's night and day! You will for sure have a smile on your face the first time you test it!

The edge is nice if you just want to set it and forget it. If you want a more serious tuner with more adjustable parameters look to SCT (my fav) or diablosport. The best thing to use is what your local (reputable) performance shop uses. That way if you ever get into more serious mods that require custom tuning, you've already got the hardware to match the software they're familiar with.

Tow Performance - This program provides better transmission shifting while modifying the ignition timing and fuel injection strategies to improve performance.

The tow setting also provides some good low end torque allowing you to get up to speed quickly with the heavy load. It also helps with driving up hills and passing while towing.

I know there are a lot of guys that run this setting all the time. I prefer to run the extreme setting unless I am towing. I know people have also had an increase in MPG when towing large loads.

A lot of this is second hand information I know, but I thought I would at least pass on what I have read and heard over time.

to add to what blackhawke posted about the tow tune i can tell you it improved my towing by alot. i pull a 6000 pound 30 foot travel trailer and the tow tune makes a huge difference not only in shifting and power but the trans temps stay lower too. id recommend it to anyone that tows alot. as of late ive just been leaving it in the tow tune all the time.

I have yet to pull anything with my edge but the tranny shifts a lot quicker, crisper and stays a little cooler on the tow setting. The performance setting is just plain tire smoking, donut busting fun. I am very happy with my edge.
