Temp Reading & Vacuum?
What does your gauge read? My 2005 F150 4.6L with 60,000 miles is at the half way mark consistently, I have not had it during hot weather nor have I pulled a load with it yet. My 1996 F250 460 with 110,000 miles is usually about at the 1/3 mark and creeps up a bit on very hot days when I am pulling a load. Is half way on the F150 normal? If not is there a way to get it lower? I had a '96 Explorer 4.0L and the temp gauge on it fluctuated but never got to the half way mark.
When you change out that vacuum solenoid (cx-2117) do you have to do anything with the vacuum line or will it create the vacuum itself once you reassemble it? Why do you disconnect the battery to install the new unit? Just curious.

I was talking about the Temp gauge. I did not know if the Temp gauges were accurate or just like idiot lights and I was just trying to get an idea of where others' were reading. The vacuum question was just because I should have my new solenoid this week and I was wondering if the vacuum recharged itself when you installed it.
