Default Techron Test

Hi Everyone,

I poured in a 20oz bottle of Techron fuel additive made by chevron around 50 miles ago. My DTC's have not been cleared in over 300 miles. This morning on my way to work I noticed that my P0430 code vanished and is no longer listed when scanned. Could this mean that the code was fuel injector related? I'm no expert and want to see if anyone could offer a explanation or possibility.

Thanks,
Kray

Note: My battery was not unhooked/nor jumped before starting the vehicle.

Catalytic efficiency

If anything, I'd guess that the Techron somehow made one of your O2 sensors start working again. Don't be surprised to see the code come back soon.

I had the same code about 4000 miles ago, used some fuel system cleaner, probably Seafoam, and the code went away and has not come back. Good luck, hope your code doesn't come back.

I used Lucas (tank) and Seafoam (tank and VAC) once each over the past 6 months. I did not see any improvement in idle or code from them. However, the plugs came out pretty clean after dosing the VAC line with Seafoam. I notice the techron is making a small difference in the minor sputter i have.

Still no sign of P0430. I think the cat may be on its way out but it is obvious the sensors must be trashed.
