Default Tailgating Mishap

Wells guys, I had quite the scare yesterday. Long story short...the grill had a few coals still inside, on the interstate the grill fell over landed on top of the folding chairs and thus 70mph speeds ignited it all. The bed of the truck was on fire! I pulled over and started poor the water/ice from the cooler over everything.

Damage:
One chair gone
Cover of another chair gone
And... The drop in bed liner, DONE! melted straight to the metal in the bed.

I removed the liner and tossed it. Not to much damage on bed, a couple paint bubbles and exposed white metal. Still thinking of how to repair...

Pictures soon...

Yeah, that's the goal...but this totally threw a wrench into the fan of modding and working on the truck. Looking for another drop-in or bed mat for temp until I do the Line-X.

next time take all the half drunk beers (always around at a tailgate cause hot beer sucks) and pour them on your ashes. take a stick and mix it up real good like a soup. and then empty it to a garbage bag (the heavy duty contractor type) and pour more water in there and mix it up good. just because the pile of coals is cold on the outside doesnt mean there aint a hot inside.

oh yeah and drop ins suck, get a liner. wish i could but truck drinks all my extra moola lol.
