Default Tailgate damage

So, I know this has happened to some others and was hoping it was never going to happen to me but I did it this morning... the tailgate was down with the bed extender out because I've got a load to take to the dump when backing up in a parking spot of my parking garage I was looking too closely at my side mirror instead of my rear view and backed in to a vertical I beam that holds all the cabling. I scuffed the little plastic top piece but (with the tailgate down) I can see dent from where it obviously is not straight anymore.

Just wondering if something like that is repairable or what others have done in an attempt to repair/replace it and costs related to it. I don't really have $600 for a tailgate (painted or not) but hate the idea of a dent...

I'll see if I can get some on lunch, otherwise it'll be more like 6:30 before I can get a picture up. I was only going a couple miles per hour so it's not terrible, just didn't know if something in that spot would be 'easily' repairable.

But I'll definitely get some up this afternoon as soon as I can.

I'd run it by a paintless dent repair guy to see what he/she thinks. It doesn't really look like a good candidate for that kind of repair, but they can do some amazing things, so it's worth a visit.

Yeah, I sent these pics to the best PDR guy in the area and he says it's a no go for him. So I guess it'll have to be a body shop thing... Which I don't have the money for right now... So it'll have to wait.
