I have used AMSOIL full synthetic for years. I go 25k miles before I change oil again. And the mpg is a little higher than with conventional oil. Some are scared to run oil that long, but let me assure you, it is great. I have over 100k miles on my truck now and I have only changed the oil four times since it was new! I am not trying to sell anyone on this, just giving a perspective on $$$ savings on maintenance.

Why bump an almost 10 year old thread? There’s plenty of more recent oil topics to discuss on and even a stickied thread.

Use any oil you want, just change it every 5,000 miles as your owners manual says and use the FL820S filter.

I used semi-syn Motorcraft (walmart), then went to full syn when there was a killer amazon deal on Miles Lubricants.

You CAN switch from dino to syn and syn to dino anytime you want, that is an old myth. Just like the 3,000 mile oil change myth.
