Angry Sway bar links keep going bad...why?

I have a 2004 F-150 that I bought used a year ago. Since then, I have replaced the sway bar links three times. At first I thought it was defective parts so I switched brands. They are out again on both sides! I cant' take the noise any longer!! Can anyone tell me why this may be happening? Suspension? HELP!!!!

Is it just the bushing wearing out?

what brand did you replace them with? do you have any kind of vibration in the front end?
I replaced mine with MOOG endlinks when i bought my truck because one of them was already shot. They have a lifetime warranty on them so it just a matter of taking them to your local carquest/napa and trading.

I believe it is just the bushings on both sides. There is a little vibration but nothing major. Just a lot of clanking around as they bounce against the sway bar. I first tried a brand from autozone but they went out twice on both sides. The ones that just went out were from Oreiley.

Hey, I have the exact same problem. Ive got a 2005 F150, and I have replaced the links 4 times in the past year! I replace them, and typically about a month later, after regular use on the road, they start knocking or clunking around. It is the most annoying thing ever. Did you figure out what was the problem? I have thought that maybe the leveling kit installed by the previous owner is causing undue stress on them, but im not sure. Any suggestions??

I am currently having the exact same problem. 04 with 2" level, LT285 70R17 cooper AT3. Seems like I need stab links more often than oil changes. Does anybody have a solution? I have had 4 pair of moogs put on it over the past 16 months.

Exactly, and I bought the regreasable moog ones myself and already put over 1000 miles on them with no issues.

Strut is a good thing to check, technically the only two big heavy items "holding" your lower control arm up right is the sway bar link and the strut..... So, definitely make sure the strut doesnt have tooo many miles on it and it still has solid compression...

Good luck to ya!

Thanks for the reply, new strut assembly passenger side but not drivers. 112k miles on truck. I'll change it and throw new stabs on and see what happens. Thanks again!
