Hello all, I have been reading posts for about 2 months and have a question. I have an 06 XLT SCREW. I found a whipple supercharger here locally from an 07 f150. He is asking $3500. Is this a good price? If so can i buy the install kit, all i have foudn so far is full SC kits. Thanks for the info and all the other info you have unknowingly provided

Thats a great price provided the kit is complete. Yes you can perform the install but you will need tuning. If you would like I can send you a PDF copy of the install instructions to your email. Just pm me your email address. This will allow you to see what should be included and what is involved in the install.

A quick note...A few parts you will want to replace and not use the used ones from the other truck.
Spark plugs. Get a new set of Autolite HTO. HTO is the part number. Gap them at .030-.032 max. You can purchase these plugs from Advance Auto or pregapped and ready to go from JDM or Troyer. http://www.teamjdm.com/ignition-accessories-6/

You will want a new thermostat as well. A 170 is what I run and prefer. However some folks run a 180. I lean on the side of caution. The cooler stat helps prevent pre-detonation by keeping temps down. As a note the Whipple kit comes with a 160 which will not allow you much heat in the winter. The trucks and tuners don't like them either. You can obtain the t-stat from Troyer or JDM and both are experinced tuners of the Whipple on the trucks. You can't go wrong with either though I'm a Troyer fan.

In addition may I also suggest you go ahead and install a set of 39lb or 42lb injectors. http://www.blueovalindustries.com/EN4540.html

I never saw an improvement. My MPG's went from 18.3 to 18.1. Of course that could have just been the tune or varying conditions when I checked my mpg's. Even now cranking out around 500rwhp I get 16.5mpg. But when I floor it look out, she will gulp 6.1lbs of fuel per minute at wide open throttle. That equals spg's (smiles per gallon).

Regearing will only be needed if it's needed now. For example if you are running larger wheels/tires or a heavy wheel/tire combo. However you may want to regear just to improve the overall performance of the truck. What are you running now? And what gear do you have?
