Thumbs down supercharger disappointment

hey guys i just put a Roush intercooled supercharger on my 05 f150 and its not that great. other than the supercharger i havent done any engine mods. i live in wyoming so the alltitude might be an issue but my wifes 08 expedition is probley just as fast. it doesnt pull my camper that great either. is it possible that i just need a tune up and mabey a new fuel filter or do i need to spend a ton more on exhaust and a pully upgrade. i dont have a boost guage yet so i dont know how much psi im putting in but its seems to be a waste of money. any help would be appreciated. happy 4th god bless the usa

The roush tune is usually said to be tuned down. Most people recommend getting it tuned by a shop, and that the roush tune sucks. but i still don't see how a supercharger isn't better than a stock truck....

Contact Troyer performance. Your issue is the tune. The stock setup for a Roush F150 blower is 8psi. The tune from them sucks and this is the case with any blower. A custom tune is needed. You will be overjoyed at the result.

just like all of the "factory" tunes, they end up being pig rich for the sake of not going all "done blow'd the motor"!

if he finds a shop that will allow him to do a dyno run or three, if he does a wideband o2 with the runs, it might be even easier for a tuner to cut a tune.

i would get your bottom end buily up for this otherwise if you run too much boost you will have to get a new bottom end anyway but not voluntarily.

You need to get a new pulley if you are in wyoming I bet you are alest 5k feet you lose 1 psi of boost ever 1k feet get you a boost gauge I will bet money you are only at 3 to 4 psi of boost

find the local dyno guy and have it do some pulls with the truck...get a a/f reading and see where you are at...the pulls will tell you where you at in the tune. should cost you less than 100$ for the pulls...if you find a dyno day probably like $40
