I'd still like to know what your budget is. If you're only wanting to spend around $2k then a tuner, exhaust and an intake will give you a noticeable difference over stock but if you've got $10k to spend on the truck then go with a tuner, exhaust and a blower.

All you gotta do is 1) watch your RPMs' or 2) turn it off....Id like to see you turn your charger off and on with a "flick of a switch"

Oh and what button? Sound like someone has been watching too many fast and the furious movies

Also...How is a supercharger better for your engine? You still have to worry about frying a gasket or toasting your rings or what have you? Not a valid argument in my opinon...

Im not a fan of nos either...But the guy was wondering what is the best way to get some power to is truck no? just making sure he keeps is options open.

With the money he was going to put forward for a supercharger he could do plenty of upgrades for his motor, intake, and exhaust to make sure it ran right with the NOS if he went that route.

you can turn a turbo or charger off easily, my brothers 250 has a vgt silenoid switch, simple flick both turbos engage, flick it the other way, strait engine.........nos is a great bang for the buck but I dont like it, very good point watch your egt's thats a huge part...and if you know what your doing both options NOS and turbos/superchargers can be good....but if you put into perspective daily driving, and what not...what seems more practical...givvin it that lil extra throttle to hit 10 lbs of boost, or hitting the nos switch/buttom (whatever you prefer) or giving it that extra gas to make it turn on and realize......crap im out

The new zex systems for the drive by wire equpied trucks is all electrically comtrolled. The only switch is a arming switch. The pil box is replaced with a computer and the switch for wot is a electrical signal.

My friend is taking his 05 to Troyers this morning to get his Roush supercharger system installed. Guys if you keep the boost to moderate levels 8-10 psi and have the truck properly tuned you aren't going to "blow" the motor. You will pick up 160 or so HP & TQ so it sounds like lots of FUN to me. PS I will let you guys and the OP know how it turns out. ALSO I don't see anything wrong with having a fast and good looking truck.

I'd like more power too, but don't want to spend $5k on it. Check these guys out for an alternative...rear turbo. I might do it with my Christmas bonus.

Dude take my advice and DON'T get the ststurbo kit. You'll kick yourself later for buying the sts. The power gains aren't as big as a regular turbo kit.

My friend ended up with 310 hp with the Roush (non-intercooled). His truck dynoed low because he didn't take the truck to them on 93 oct like he was told to. His truck should pick up a few hp/tq as he runs it with the 93. Troyer said the results with the Roush should have been 340-345 RWHP. Anyway his truck runs very good. Throttle response, idle, power, and of course the SC sound are all way better than stock. So to sum it up he picked up 113 RWHP and I think 130 Ft lbs of TQ. Hey his tq is 339 @ 2,000 rpm's; thats not to bad.
