Default Subwoofer Enclosure

ok so i found the blue prints to a sub box that will fit underneath the rear seat here is that thread

http://www.f150online.com/forums/spe...home-made.html

what i would like to know is if i made this box to hold just one single 10 inch sub could i mount a Kicker L3 10 inch in this box

http://www.kicker.com/Solo-Baric_L3

i know the answer is probably staring me straight in the face but i am not to knowledgeable when it comes to sub boxes and mounting subs in them and as this will be my first time building a sub box

I can't find it right now but I bought a sub box that for for a single 10" that fits under the back seat of my supercab and is downfiring, I only paid aroud 45$ for it, It is very elaborate, I have built plenty of boxes over the years but for 45$ I could not have built it. It uses the space from drivers side to just over the hump. I Love how it loads the speaker because it is down firing. It hits super hard and no distortion. I supplied the speaker a Orion DVC. It was a company that was selling them no just one made in a garage.

So why don't you measure it. according to kicker you need 5.5 inches and the dimensions of the box average 5.6 inches in the center. The box that that I bought has wood removed for the magnet and added to the outside, hard to explain but fits a normal speaker.

i think i bought the same box havent got around to putting a sub in it i am currently running just a truck wedge. did you have any clearance problems? when i dry fit mine i dont see any more room for a sub let alone any diflection. i think trimming my huskyliners may help some.

so in other words the L3 will fit in that box? sorry man kind of a audio noob (but willing to learn) when it comes to this stuff as this will be my first time building a box etc etc just not buying a prefabbed box and sticking a sub in it. also thought that there was more to it spec wise then just the mounting depth. thats the only thing that is throwing me off is what specs to look for when building a box and matching a sub to it.

That sounds like exactly what I'm looking for. Any chance you could find out what company makes them? I can't find anything deep enough for a DVC 10" that I already have and want to use
