I have an 08 STX V6 Reg. cab and the dealer has a what I believe is an 06 Reg cab FX4. I believe I know the truck and the previous owner who took very good care of it. My question is how are the 06's? I know this is a matter of opinion but I'm kind of torn if I should keep my 08 or go for the more truck. I'm sure price isn't going to be an issue as mine only has 12,500 miles on it. Anyone's opinion is welcome.

 

The 06s had some good improvements over the 04-05 5.4L, especially correction of the cam phaser issues. The 06s still have the 2 piece plugs though.

You will lose your aux in.

I'd say go for it (or it least go take it for a test drive), but make sure you definitely want to stay with a regular cab truck and not change to a super or crew cab.

 

Test drive sold it. It has a Ranch Hand brush guard, dual exhaust, a K&N air filter, and the steps; and all were already on the truck when I bought it.

A little bummed about the aux port but I'll get over that. Pic included.
