Default Stutter

2004 5.4L When driving and i punch the accelerator, the truck will shift down accordingly but the engine will hesitate and stutter before the RPMs increase. Thinking maybe time for a new fuel filter and MAF sensor cleaner. What do you guys think?

Can't hurt....how many miles are on the spark plugs? Hope not too many, as those early 2004 5.4's are nasty for changing spark plugs.

Read the sticky at the top of this forum if the plugs are due....then sit down and be prepared.

definetly start with the basics, i have a big thread on this issue on this forum and another. If you haven't done the basics like MAF cleaning, air filter, fuel filter, you must start there in my opinion.

Cleaned MAF, seafoamed the engine, and changed out the fuel filter. Runs strong and is nice and quiet. Yay.
