Boy do I feelstupid. Just found receipt of where codes were read. The codes were p0420 andp0430. If im not mistaken that is left and right downstream sensor. Please correct me if im wrong. If that is the case then the upstream sensor is ok.

Those codes indicate that both your cats are fried.

Most guys that work are autopart stores are morons and only know whats the computer tells them all so they can sell parts. Codes only give you a clue as to what is going on, but ive only seen 1 out of 100 Converter codes be wrong.

Do a google search but they make a sensor that tricks the 02 Sensor into thinking that the Cat is working correctly and doesnt allowing the light to set. Ive installed these on few custom cars, but its been few years.

BTW: Tampering with catalytic converters is a $10k fine and 10 years in jail if you get caught. But I didnt see anything.

I am getting that impression after this experience. I would hope they know better though.
